Google is launching a new installment of the #BestPhonesForever series

Google has released the latest ad in its #BestPhonesForever series, titled “The Big Game.”

These ads use stop-motion animation to portray a friendship between the iPhone and Pixel phones. Google highlights the capabilities of its Pixel phones and criticizes the iPhone, but in a rather cute way.

At halftime of the game between the iPhones and the Pixels, Coach iPhone tries to motivate his team. “I know you feel like the dynamic is changing, but this game isn’t over yet.”.

Says one of the players on the iPhone team: “But coach, the other team keeps getting new AI features.” Another player mentions that the other team has “Circle to Search,” a feature that allows Pixel users to circle something in a photo and get search results for that item.

Another player highlights the feature Video Boost of the Pixel 8 Pro, which sends a video to Google for improved processing using artificial intelligence. The rest of the players are devastated by these artificial intelligence features.

“We are lost”, says an iPhone. But Coach iPhone doesn’t want to hear about it. With inspiring music in the background, the trainer says: “It’s enough! Sure, Team Pixel has advanced AI to correct group photos, summarize shots and reduce noise in videos. But it doesn’t matter what they contain. What matters is what’s outside.”

The trainer emphasizes that the iPhone Pro models are lighter, have contoured edges and “A charging port with a different shape”. Then he continues: “You don’t need fancy AI to edit photos and filter spam calls. Let’s concentrate! This is our moment. Let’s go back out there. And make sure they always remember the night they played against the team that dared to turn a switch into an action button.

The ad ends with the iPhone telling the Pixel: “Um, I lost my tactical guide. Can I use yours? This could suggest that the iPhone has lost its way and that the Pixel uses artificial intelligence features to know where it’s going in the phone market.
