Google I/O 2025 Highlights Artificial Intelligence Features

Google just wrapped up its I/O 2025 conference, and it was all about artificial intelligence. The company showcased its latest AI advancements, including Gemini 2.5, a more powerful version of its AI model.

One of the highlights was the introduction of AI Mode on Google Search. This new feature allows users to have a conversation with the search engine, getting more accurate and personalized results. It’s available in the US and will soon roll out to other countries.

Google also announced Project Starline, now rebranded as Google Beam. This technology uses light field display and 3D image processing to create a more realistic video calling experience. It’s expected to launch soon with devices from HP.

The company showed off its new AI models, including Imagen 4, which can generate images from text, and Veo 3, which can create videos with sound. There’s also Flow, a tool that uses AI to create videos from text and images.

Gemini 2.5 Pro got a new feature called Deep Think, designed for complex questions about math and coding. Google also introduced Xreal, a pair of smart glasses that run on Android XR and come with a camera and microphone.

Chrome is getting an AI-powered feature that can summarize web pages and answer questions. Google announced AI Ultra, a new subscription plan that offers access to its latest AI models, including Gemini, NotebookLM, and Flow. The plan costs $250 per month and includes 30 TB of storage on Google Drive and a YouTube Premium subscription.

Other updates include Search Live, which lets you point your camera at something and ask questions about it, and Stitch, a tool that uses AI to create interfaces for apps. Google Meet now has a feature that can translate spoken language in real-time, and Gmail is getting a smart reply feature that uses AI to suggest responses to emails.

Lastly, Google introduced AI Shopping, which lets you upload a full-body photo and see how clothes would look on you using AI. Chrome will also start suggesting password changes if it detects a breach.
