Do you ever get tired of typing passwords and payment details on your phone? It’s a common struggle. Remembering those tricky logins and financial numbers can feel like a chore. Well, Google just launched a new feature for GBoard that aims to make that frustration disappear. It’s called “Auto-fill with Google.” This handy shortcut promises to end one of the biggest headaches for Android users.
This new feature is rolling out to users quietly. You might not even notice an app update, but the functionality will just appear. It finally fixes a long-standing issue: when the automatic fill feature wouldn’t load your saved login details. Before, if autofill failed, you had to manually copy information from your password manager. Now, with just one touch, these details appear instantly.
Getting started is simple. Once you turn on the feature in your GBoard settings, a clear button pops up whenever you open the keyboard. Tap it, and you’ll see two main choices: passwords and payment methods. If you select passwords, GBoard shows you the saved logins for the app you are currently using. If you choose payment methods, it displays your stored cards. For security reasons, it will always ask you to enter the CVV number for payments.
This update couldn’t have come at a better time. GBoard is already a strong player. It includes features like the much-anticipated undo button. But this new addition makes it even more complete. GBoard is already used on more than 10 billion mobile devices worldwide. It gained its popularity with tools like offline dictation and built-in Google Translate.
To turn on this helpful new shortcut, just go into GBoard’s settings. Then, look for the option within the screen configuration menu. The update is available in both the stable version (15.7.4.787916401) and the beta version (15.7.5.787916401).
What’s great is that Google truly thought of everything. Requiring the CVV for payments keeps your money safe without being a hassle. And getting quick access to your passwords means no more digging through separate notes or other apps. It makes logging in and buying things much smoother.
