Google does not rule out the hypothesis of a Pixel Flip

Google recently unveiled its first foldable smartphone Pixel Fold that came in the same form factor as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold.

But it seems that the research giant has more plans for the foldable terminal segment. On Google’s horizon there may be a new flexible screen model, but this time in a casing format that should become known as the Pixel Flip.

It was at the I/O conference that Google finally introduced its first foldable smartphone Pixel Fold. But it seems that the research giant is very interested in the segment of these terminals and does not rule out the possibility of creating a new foldable, but this time in a casing format.

Google Pixel product manager George Hwang said in an interview that the company is always looking at different types of devices and technologies, which ensures that Google is considering new equipment.

Shortly after, the same person in charge highlighted that the company’s current focus is the Pixel Fold and that the book format (Fold) was chosen for the benefits it can bring to the user.

George Hwang revealed that when he started the process of creating the Pixel Fold, he challenged the team to design a device that he wanted to use every day and not as a luxury device.

Although this person in charge of Google has assured that the company trusts a lot in the Pixel Fold, he has not failed to reveal that they are “always exploring other types of equipment and technologies.”

But while the rumors about the possible Pixel Flip, in clamshell format, do not start, let’s remember here what the new Pixel Fold offers us.

The main screen of the 7.6-inch model offers a resolution of 2208 x 1840 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, in addition to a maximum brightness of 1000 nits and support for HDR10 +.

The secondary screen is 5.8 inches, with a resolution of 2092×1080 pixels and also a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The “heart and brain” of the Pixel Fold is the Tensor G2 processor, which, in turn, is combined with 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage capacity. The model is powered by a 4,821 mAh battery.

Otherwise, the triple rear camera setup is led by a 48-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization. The module also features an ultra-wide sensor and a telephoto sensor, both with 10.8-megapixel resolution, with the latter sensor providing 5x optical zoom.
