Google can't take it anymore and reveals the Pixel Fold a week before the event

Google will announce the Pixel Fold on May 10 at its Google I/O developer conference, but since the device has already been widely leaked, there’s not much to know.

This could explain why Google opted to show unannounced foldable phone in a tweet today.

“May The Fold Be With You” is what Google tweeted on May 4, also known as Star Wars Day. The tweet also includes a short video showing the Pixel Fold from virtually every angle. The tweet even includes the hashtag #PixelFold, in case there was any doubt about the name.

Unsurprisingly, the real Pixel Fold looks identical to the leaked model we’ve seen. The back of the phone has a camera bar similar to the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7, and the cover screen is almost as big as a Pixel’s main screen, and the screen inside is large with no visible creases. Now the pictures are quite remarkable.

Previous leaks have revealed that the 256GB Pixel Fold will be priced at $1,799 and will come in obsidian and chalk colors, while the 512GB Pixel Fold will cost $1,919 and will only come in obsidian. The foldable will feature a 5.8-inch external display and a 7.6-inch internal OLED display, both of which support 120Hz refresh rates.

The Pixel Fold will be unveiled during Google’s keynote at Google I/O at 7 pm (Spanish time) on Wednesday, May 10.
