Unpublished pictures from Google Assistant with Bard, demonstrates how this artificial intelligence digital assistant could work at launch.
Apparently Google accidentally displayed this video without sound in the Pixel Tips app, so it’s probably authentic.
According to the video, there are two ways to activate Assistant with Bard: by tapping the Bard app and saying “Hey Google,” or by holding down the power button.
A card appears at the bottom of the screen where you can enter a text command, upload photos, or give a voice command. The demo only shows the second method, where someone takes a photo of a wilted plant and asks for advice on how to save it.
In just a few seconds, Assistant with Bard manages to correctly identify the plant in the image and generates detailed text explaining what can be done to revive it. Links to several YouTube videos are even provided at the end.

According to information on Pixel Tips, Assistant with Bard will only be available on Pixel phones with a Tensor chip. These include the Pixel 6, Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 series. Older models will not receive the update, nor will the Pixel Tablet or Pixel Fold.
A release date in the Pixel Tips app suggests this Market launch in March 2024. It’s important to note that March is also the expected release window for Android 14 QPR2 and the upcoming feature drop for Pixel phones.
It’s not yet known if other Android devices will get Assistant with Bard. It looks like it will be exclusive to Pixel for now. We could also see the update on other smartphones in the future, but considering that brands like Samsung prefer to have their own artificial intelligence, this may not happen.
