Good news for Delhi Capitals, Prithvi Shaw released from hospital

Delhi Capitals’ talented young batsman Prithvi Shaw has been discharged from hospital and returned to the hotel after recovering from typhoid fever. The franchise gave this information on Sunday. The franchise did not say whether he would play the remaining two league games with Australian legend David Warner at IPL 2022.

The Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals will play Punjab Kings on Monday, followed by the final match of the IPL 2022 league against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium on May 21. The team currently sits fifth in the IPL points table with 12 points and is in the playoff race.

A statement from DC on Sunday morning read: “Delhi Capitals starter Prithvi Shaw has been released from hospital, where he was being treated for typhoid. Shaw is back at the hotel, where he is under medical supervision. “.

Recently, Delhi Capitals assistant coach Shane Watson had indicated that the youngster is unlikely to feature in the team’s remaining matches.

Shaw missed DC’s last three league games against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals after playing Lucknow Super Giants on May 1. An Instagram story from Shaw on May 8 revealed that the starter was hospitalized due to a fever.

In nine games, Shaw has scored 259 runs at an average of 28.78 and a strike rate of 159.87, including two half centuries. Watson said, “His absence from him so far is a loss to the team. Hopefully he’ll be back in the team soon.”
