Óscar González tied the game with a two-run single and scored on Owen Miller’s sacrifice fly that gave the Cleveland Guardians the lead, who wound up beating the Minnesota Twins 11-10 on Wednesday night.
Gonzalez homered earlier and finished with four RBIs for the resurrected Guardians, who scored four times in the ninth.
Cleveland has won the first two of the three games in the series to take a one-game lead over Minnesota atop the AL Central.
The teams will meet five times in four days next week in Cleveland.
Carlos Correa hit two homers for the Twins, who have lost four of five games and are 8-11 in June. Max Kepler and Gio Urshela also homered for Minnesota.
Sam Hentges (1-0) covered scoreless the eighth inning and the Dominican Republic Emmanuel Class credited his 17th save to solve in three men the ninth.
The loss went to Griffin Jax (4-2) for the second night in a row.
For the Guardians, the Dominicans Amed Rosario 5-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs, José Ramírez 4-1 with two runs scored, González 5-2 with two runs scored and four produced. The Venezuelan Andrés Giménez 4-1.
For the Twins, the Venezuelan Luis Arráez 4-0 with an RBI. Puerto Rican Correa 5-2 with two runs scored and two produced. The Dominicans Gary Sánchez 5-1 with a run scored, Gilberto Celestino 2-0. Colombian Urshela 4-3 with three runs scored and three RBIs.
