Gonsolin lifts unbeaten record to 10-0 as Dodgers edge Padres

Tony Gonsolin kept up the pursuit of his first All-Star appearance, pitching into the eighth inning, and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres 5-1 on Friday.

Max Muncy and Cody Bellinger homered as the Dodgers won their third straight game and improved to 2-0 in an 11-game homestand, their longest of the season. Los Angeles has won four of five against San Diego this year and leads them by 3 1/2 games atop the NL West.

Gonsolin (10-0) became the first 10-game winner in the National League and lowered his major league-best ERA to 1.54.

Gonsolin allowed one run on four hits in 7 2/3 innings, with no walks and eight strikeouts. He finished the outing by striking out pinch hitter Manny Machado and CJ Abrams.

Trent Grisham homered for the Padres, who have lost five of their last six.

San Diego left-hander Blake Snell struck out a season-high 12 but lasted just five innings on 107 pitches. Every Dodger batter in the starting lineup had struck out by the sixth inning.

For the Padres, Dominican Nomar Mazara 4-0.
