Gonçalo Ramos convinces PSG

Paris Saint Germain made an important move in the transfer market this Wednesday by securing the stay of Portuguese striker Gonçalo Ramos. In a statement, the Parisian club announced that it had exercised the purchase option for an amount of 65 million euros, thereby strengthening its commitment to the young 22-year-old attacker. This operation comes after Ramos was loaned to PSG in the summer for a transfer fee of €20 million.

Gonçalo Ramos, a Portuguese international, arrived in the French capital from Benfica in August on the recommendation of Luis Campos, an expert on the Portuguese player market. The aim was to provide Luis Enrique with a striker with outstanding technical skills. Although his stats have not been outstanding this season, with just two goals in 11 games, none of them in the Champions League, the club remain unwavering in their belief in his potential. Ramos has signed a five-year contract that ties him to PSG until June 2028.

The French are gaining economic strength

With the acquisition of Gonçalo Ramos, PSG has invested a total of 155 million euros in its two strikers, including 90 million for Randal Kolo Muani and the aforementioned 65 million, which could increase to 80 million if certain bonuses are fulfilled by Ramos. Both players faced challenges in adapting to the playing system of Luis Enrique, who will try to address the lack of goals in the coming games, especially in the Champions League, a crucial competition for the Paris team’s fortunes in the season.
