The survey that the official website of the NBA draws each year with the predictions of the GM’s ahead of the season is here. In her Luka Doncic is put as the main player, the Slovenian being the best placed player in percentage of votes to win the MVP when the regular phase of 2022/23 ends. The directors bet 48% on the Mavericks, relying on the step forward from the previous year and another impressive summer with Slovenia. Giannis, a winner of this award, keeps 34%. Joel Embiid, who brushed past him last year, is third with 14%. Stephen Curry, the MVP of the last finals, closes the quartet with a tiny 3%. Kevin Durant, favorite in the last poll, disappears from the list after a market in which he asked for a transfer to the Brooklyn Nets.
Anteto, however, is the most voted in the question about the player with whom you would want to start a team from scratch if you had that opportunity. Curry is not only the best point guard but he is also the player who forces the opposing team to make the most adjustments. The two would be in the best quintet that can be formed in the NBA along with Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Nikola Jokic.
The champion prediction also leaves out the Nets, the clear favorite last year. The bucks are the most voted (43%), followed by a possible repetition of the Warriors (25%) and of Celtics (21%) and Clippers (eleven%).
The sports managers of the thirty franchises highlight the summer in the Cavaliers’ transfer market and the signing of Donovan Mitchell as the most powerful. Of his staff, Evan Mobley (21%) is mentioned as the boy whose season will be the most groundbreaking. Ricky Rubio’s team has formed a good team to grow further in the Eastern Conference with the leadership of JB Bickerstaff. The ones that will improve their performance the most according to these votes, however, will be the Clippers of -it is expected- recovered Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
The best rookie would be paolo banchero, from the Magic (31%). The most underrated signing of the summer is Malcolm Brogdon, from the Celtics (28%). the best coach is erik spoelstraof the Heat, without discussion: 52%.
If foreign personnel are limited, Giannis maintains the position as the most valued and here also ahead of Luka. The madness for Victor Wembanyama, French center of the Metropolitans 92 and who is the maximum candidate to be number one in the 2023 NBA Draft, is transferred to paper: he is the best of those who play outside the United States with 45% of the ballots; Nikola Mirotic is 2nd with 28% and Vasilije Micic is 3rd with 21%; Walter Tavares, from Madrid, and Sasha Vezenkov, from Olympiacos, also received votes.
In miscellaneous questions names like LeBron James appear, who with 45% is the most intelligent player on the court, Chris Paul, who for 34% is the best leader, or Ja Morant, who is the fastest and most athletic. The Warriors are listed as the most attractive team to watch and the Nets are, on the other hand, the most difficult to predict due to the internal problems they endure. Among managers, the rule that is most voted for changing is that of referee reviews and requests that coaches now have.
