Gmail Web with more useful functions for users

The Gmail web app is getting a set of new features that make writing and sending emails easier and faster.

The new features will soon be available to Google Workspace, G Suite Basic, and Business users.

The New button in Gmail Web allows you to see the full name and address of a contact

Through its blog, Google announced that Gmail for the web will have new functions that can be very useful in composing emails. Among the new features is the new context menu that allows you to view the full name of a contact, as well as copy their email address.

From now on, it will also be possible for the user to define how a contact appears for other recipients of the same email. For example, if you have defined a contact as “mother”, with this new feature you can choose a different name to be displayed to other people who receive the same email.

With this update, recipients will also have an avatar attached to help them more easily identify included contacts. Additionally, by hovering over the avatar, any email recipient can access that recipient’s contact card.

Users will also receive a notice if they send a contact who is not part of the same company and therefore should not receive sensitive information.

New Gmail feature prevents duplication of contacts

Another innovation that will be of great use is, without a doubt, the functionality that avoids the duplication of recipients. From now on, Gmail sorts addresses that have already been included and does not allow them to be retyped in other fields, for example in the CC area.

But there is better. Now Gmail will also make sure the addresses are spelled correctly; if not, it will not be considered for sending email and the sender of the email receives an error message to correct the incorrect entry.

For Google Workspace, G Suite Basic, and Business users, the new features are available starting today. As for personal account users in Gmail, there is no scheduled date for this to happen.
