Globalia Clarifies Contracts in Court

Globalia Assures it is Available to Clarify Information Regarding Contracts for Medical Supplies Transport

The Globalia Group, the parent company of Air Europa, has stated that it is “available to clarify whatever is necessary” in regards to the contracts it entered into for the transport of medical supplies during the Covid-19 pandemic.

This follows a decision by the second section of the Criminal Division of the National Court, which agreed to partially uphold the appeal filed by the popular prosecution Association Lieberum against an earlier order from an investigating judge that denied a requested diligence. The court has ordered CEO Javier Hidalgo to appear before Judge Ismael Moreno as a witness in the so-called “Koldo case.”

The court believes that this procedure will aid in the exact understanding of the terms of the service provided for transporting medical supplies, derived from public contracts, and help clarify the payment for these services, including any commissions paid. The association Lieberum had requested testimony from not only Hidalgo, but also CEO of Wuakalua Hub, but only Hidalgo’s testimony was accepted by the court.

Globalia has reaffirmed its confidence in the justice system and its desire for complete cooperation. A statement sent to EFE from the company read: “We are available to clarify everything necessary regarding the facts under investigation and reaffirm our full confidence in the justice system, as well as our desire for absolute cooperation.”
