Gladiator 2: The Gladiator sequel expands its cast and draws from Marvel’s Moon Knight series

Gladiator 2 continues to expand its star cast with several new actors. Carried out by Ridley Scott, the film will feature Paul Mescal in the role of Lucius, the young boy originally played by Spencer Treat Clarkand will take place approximately 30 years after the first Gladiator. While Russell Crowe should not return since his character died in the last installment, it has already been confirmed that Connie Nielsen will resume his role as Lucilla, the mother of Lucius.

Deadline reports that May Calamawywho played Layla El Faouly in Moon Knight (Marvel – Disney+), was chosen to play in Gladiator 2. Fred Hechinger (The White Lotus) is in negotiations to play Emperor Geta. Barry Keoghan was initially in talks for the role, but the actor eventually dropped out of the project due to scheduling conflicts. Lior Raz, Peter Mensah And Matt Lucas have also been cast in as-yet-unrevealed roles, and Derek Jacobi should take over the role of Gracchus that he held in the first Gladiator.
