Girona is still alive in Europe

Spar Girona achieved a key victory this Wednesday on the court of Polish VBW Arka Gdynia (65-78) to keep their options alive to advance to the next round of the Euroleague and confirm, at least, his presence in the quarterfinals of the European Championshipthe second continental competition.

The duel corresponded to the last day of the group stage of the highest European competition, but Girona still has a match pending at the Basket Landes courtin which if he wins he could qualify for the Euroleague knockout stage based on the results of other teams.

Before the bottom of group B of the Euroleague, Girona achieved the seventh victory in 13 games and rediscovered the victory in the Euroleagueafter suffering three consecutive defeats.

Gdynia, already without any qualification ambitions after achieving only two wins in the entire group stage, sought to close the gap and managed to break the ten-point barrier at the start of the third quarter (34-43), but the Catalan victory was not in danger at any time, despite the great numbers of Megan Gustafson (25), the match’s top scorer.
