Giro d’Italia today, stage 15: schedule, profile and route

The second week of the Giro d’Italia comes to an end. And he will do it with an unexpected situation, after Geraint Thomas, who had added four days as leader, delivered the pink jersey to Bruno Armirail, who picked it up from the first jerrycan leak of this edition.

The 15th stage consists of a route of half-mountain that is very reminiscent of the beautiful cycling day that took place last year in Turin, where the race was turned upside down with the battle between Richard Carapaz, Jai Hindley, Vincenzo Nibali and the rest of the favorites. The menu will consist of 195 km, starting at Seregno and finishing at Bergamo, and 3,600 meters of unevenness that will be distributed, mainly, in four ports: one of 1st and three of 2nd category.

Beyond the possible success of a breakaway, the lead will be at stake between Armirail and the favourites, who could make their own in the tremendous start of Valpiana (10 km at 6.7% average), with ramps of 17%. Hopefully there is intention. It will be the 16th time that Bergamo has hosted a stage finish of the Giro, where riders such as Bob Jungels and Stefano Garzelli previously triumphed. Runners with a climbing profile and stage hunters such as Bauke Mollema, Ben Healy, Santiago Buitrago, Lennard Kämna, Einer Rubio, Lorenzo Fortunato or Jefferson Cepeda, among others, they will have serious chances of victory from a leak.
