The Cibao Giants reported that they have reached an agreement with manager Jesús Mejía so that he will continue to lead the club’s baseball operations for the next three years.

The information was offered by the new president of the franchise, Alfredo Acebal Rizek, who expressed his satisfaction with the hiring of Mejía for at least three more years.

"Since his arrival at the Giants, Jesús has shown his mastery and knowledge of baseball, achieving the unattainable in just two seasons, a final series and a championship. However, his day-to-day work and short- and long-term vision with the franchise has led us to extend his contract as general manager for 3 years until the 2025 season."said the executive.

"We bet on him as a young and updated man in modern baseball to continue growing the franchise and maintain a competitive team year after year."Acebal added.

When Mejía took over as general manager, the team had been left out in its last two seasons, ranking sixth and fifth respectively.

In his first year holding the position, together with his operations team, he managed to classify the Cibao Giants in first place with a 16-14 record in a 30-game campaign in the regular series and later play the final series of that season.

For his next campaign, Mejía once again stood out as a manager making important moves and gathering possibly the best group on the field of play and won the regular series again with a 23-17 mark, this time in a 40-game regular series tournament. , to later win the championship by beating the Eastern Stars 4-1 in the final series.
