Giants beat Rockies for the ninth straight time

Alex Wood pitched into the sixth inning and gave up no earned runs, Brandon Belt had an RBI double in his return to the starting lineup and the San Francisco Giants beat the Rockies 9-2 Tuesday for their ninth straight victory over Colorado.

Curt Casali had three hits and drove in two runs for San Francisco, which had its fourth win after a five-game losing streak.

Wood (3-2) had lost his last two starts. The left-hander overcame a bases-loaded situation in the first inning by shutting out Elias Diaz and striking out Garrett Hampson to end the fourth with a runner on second after an unearned run by the Rockies.

Wood allowed seven hits and struck out four in 5 1/3 innings.

The defeat went to the record of Venezuelan Antonio Senzatela (2-2) after conceding five runs and seven hits in three chapters and two thirds.

For the Rockies, Cuban José Iglesias 5-2. The Venezuelans Elías Díaz 4-0; Yonathan Daza 4-3, with a run scored.

For the Giants, Venezuelan Thairo Estrada 5-2, with two runs scored and one produced. Honduran Mauricio Dubón 4-1, with a run scored. The Mexican Luis González 2-2, with a run scored and an RBI.
