The Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition indicated that “provisional figures obtained by the Copernicus satellite of the European Commission” allow us to estimate that “an area greater than 6,000 hectares” has already gone up in smoke. A fire as difficult to control because of the winds and heat, but also by the “peculiarities of the terrain”, according to the authorities.

Pedro Sanchez, Spanish Prime Minister, expressed his support for all the victims of the fire. “We will work in coordination and tirelessly to fight the fire that is ravaging the province of Malaga. Our solidarity with all those affected, ”he wrote on Twitter.
