geta pioneer in ultra-fast grocery delivery, today announced the acquisition of gorillasa Berlin on-demand delivery company. This move underlines Getir’s leadership in consolidating this sector.
The transaction would have closed in a deal of 1,200 million dollars which gives the combined group a valuation of $10 billion.
Getir was founded in 2015 as the world’s first ultra-fast food delivery service and operates in nine countries on three continents. A pioneer in the sector with its delivery model in minutes, the company became the first European decacorn for delivery of purchases earlier this year.

Gorillas recently left Spain
the online supermarket Gorillas ended its operations in Spain on November 11, 2022. The company’s results in 2022 are not being very positive and its operations have ceased to be profitable in some locations. The news had been waiting for several months, since on May 24 it announced for the first time its intention to abandon operations in the country.
