Gervonta Davis responds

Gervonta Davis starred in a new scandal. The boxer was arrested Tuesday for alleged domestic violence, with assault and bodily harm, and appeared before a judge in Broward County, in Fort Lauderdale. He was released on $1,000 bail and shared an image on Instagram, which he has since deleted, where He expressed that “he has never laid his hands on his daughter’s mother” and that he is not “a monster.”

“Don’t let these people fool you. […] This was yesterday morning moments before my daughter’s mother and I got into an argument! Watching Frozen with my oldest daughter,” shares Davis. He assures that he has never laid hands on his wife or his daughter, and calls anyone who can think of it “crazy”. “I am not a monster and I have been quiet for a long time. I don’t have a media team, public relations, a good lawyer… It’s the only reason I’m doing this! To clear my name!”, he expresses.

Gervonta assures that all this is a campaign by some media to discredit him and that they want to get money at his expense. “These people have taken so much stuff out, posted it all over the place, and now I have a […] helicopter flying over my house as i write this because you see this […] as money for them, and they want to get as much money as possible,” Davis says. He assures that they do not care if the delicate situation is true or false, that they only publish it because “it is beneficial for their business.”

He was also able to obtain the telephone conversation of the mother of Davis’ daughter with emergencies. “Please help me. I’m trying to go home, I have my baby in the car and she attacked me. Please help. Is going to kill me!”, explained the alleged victim in this call. Tank He assures that she cried on the phone because “she did not want to give him her car.”

In February 2020, he already faced two charges of assault on his ex-girlfriend, but it was finally filed. He will also have to testify on February 16 in court for his involvement in a hit-and-run at the end of 2020, where four people were injured. He faces 14 charges. The boxer has not made any statement about his next fight on January 7 against Héctor Luis García in Washington.
