Germany: More than 1000 flights of Lufthansa canceled

Berlin: Employees of the German airline Lufthansa went on strike, as a result of which more than 1,000 flights were cancelled.

According to the report, not only thousands of passengers are facing difficulties due to the strike, but the company is also facing a huge financial loss.

About 134,000 passengers had to change their itineraries or cancel altogether due to the strike by the employees.

According to the German news agency DPA, 47 flights were canceled on Tuesday. Lufthansa Airlines’ major hubs Frankfurt and Munich are the worst affected, while flights from Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Berlin, Bremen, Hannover, Stuttgart and Cologne have also been cancelled.

The airline has told affected passengers not to go to airports because most of the counters there are not staffed, Lufthansa spokesman Martin Luetke has criticized the strike as damaging.
