Germany: an unusual tree climbing installed in a disused steel factory

As if venturing into a disused ironworks wasn’t enough, that a dizzying way was needed to explore the blast furnaces, the exhaust stacks. Here visitors climb with their bare hands, until they feel the thrill, more than 50 meters above the ground. AT Duisburg (Germany), the attraction is full every weekend. 89 euros per person for a three-hour course, after 20 minutes of safety instructions.

Preserving industrial heritage

Most visitors are already accustomed to thrill-filled activities. But the attraction is also open to novices. Until 1985, it was in this hangar that the steel flowed, heated to more than 2,000°C. The plant supplied the many car manufacturing sites in the region. The site was left intact to preserve the industrial heritage of this great mining region.
