Besiktas Snatches a Draw
In a nail-biting finish, Besiktas managed to salvage a point against Kasimpasa on Monday. With their sights set on European competition, Solskjaer’s team scored a penalty in the 90th minute, courtesy of Gedson, to level the game at 1-1.
The Istanbul club faced a setback when they lost a central player to injury just 17 minutes in, with Kasimpasa already leading 1-0. Things took a turn for the worse when Sanuç, the replacement for Topçu, got expelled before halftime, leaving his team in a precarious position.
Despite the challenges, Besiktas found a way to bounce back. With Rafa and João Mário in the starting lineup, Gedson became the third Portuguese player to make a crucial impact. Stepping up to take the penalty, Gedson didn’t flinch and secured a point that keeps Besiktas in fourth place – the last spot that guarantees a European competition berth.
In another match, Goztepe and Gaziantep also ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
