Gattuso Favored to Lead Italian National Team

The Italian football federation’s search for a new coach has taken a dramatic turn. After Claudio Ranieri turned down the offer, attention shifted to Gennaro Gattuso. The former World Cup winner, who recently left Hajduk Split, is now the top candidate for the job.

Gattuso has a wealth of experience, having managed clubs like AC Milan, Napoli, Valencia, and Marseille. The 47-year-old coach is currently in talks with FIGC president Gabriele Gravina. If a deal can’t be reached, the federation has a backup plan in Daniele De Rossi, another 2006 World Cup winner who is currently a free agent.

Other coaches were also in the running, including Stefano Pioli, who was set to leave Al Nassr. However, Pioli decided to honor his commitment to return to Fiorentina instead. The search for a new coach is ongoing, with Gattuso emerging as the favorite to take the reins.
