Gasoline prices: this is the department with the lowest fuel prices

The prices of diesel and unleaded are reaching historic levels throughout France. For the moment, only one department seems to resist this increase in fuels.

According to Telegram, who analyzed the prices displayed in gasoline stations across the country, the Bretons are for the moment those who pay the least money to refuel. Regarding diesel, the prize goes to Finistère, with a price displayed at 1.53 euros per liter on average. In the Côtes-d’Armor, the stations offer an average liter at 1.54 euros. It is more expensive by a cent in Morbihan and Ille-et-Vilaine, while the national average peaks at 1.57 euros / liter and that can reach 1.71 euros in the Paris region.

Finistère also cheaper on unleaded

Among the four Breton departments, it is still Finistère which posts the most attractive prices for unleaded: the SP 98 is posted there on average at 1.68 euros per liter (against 1.73 for the national average) , the SP 95 at 1.64 euros (against 1.67 euros in the rest of the country) and the SP 95-10 at 1.60 euros, ie 17 cents less than the national average.

Several factors can explain these low prices: first the proximity to ports and refineries which reduce transport costs, then the internal consumption tax on energy products (TICPE), which allows regions to increase the price per liter of oil. ‘gasoline. The cost of commercial real estate also causes the price to vary, with resort rents more expensive in the Paris region than in Brittany.

If it is Finistère which posts the lowest average prices, the cheapest gas stations of the country are however in other regions: for the cheapest diesel (1.42 euros / liter), it is necessary to go to Saujon (Charente-Maritime). The cheapest SP 98 (1.40 euro) is in Saint-Germain-du-Puy (Cher) and those who drive at SP 95-E10 (1.48 euro) can go to Fos-sur-Mer ( Bouches-du-Rhône). In Valdahon, in the Doubs, a petrol station even offers SP 95 at 1 euro per liter.
