It’s official. Alejandro Garnacho, the Argentine international, has joined Chelsea for the new season. He left Manchester United, the club managed by Ruben Amorim, and signed a seven-year deal with the Blues. This contract keeps him with Chelsea until June 2032.
Garnacho didn’t hold back when talking to Chelsea’s official website. He called the move an amazing moment for him and his family. The young player said he couldn’t wait to get started. He watched the Club World Cup and felt it was very special to join the world champions. He even declared, “We are the best team in the world.” The 21-year-old left winger, clearly thrilled, added, “It’s fantastic to be here. I am very happy.”
This statement certainly turned heads, especially given his past. Garnacho came up through the ranks at both Atlético Madrid and Manchester United. His football journey began in his hometown with Atlético Madrid. He spent three years in their youth academy. Then, he made the big move to England. He joined Manchester United’s youth teams.
In his first year with United in 2020/21, he played for the under-19s, under-21s, and under-23s. He made his official debut for the senior Manchester United team in the 2021/22 season. That year also saw Cristiano Ronaldo return to Old Trafford, and Garnacho is a known fan of the superstar.
Chelsea paid 46 million Euros to get the Argentine forward. Manchester United also made sure to keep a piece of the pie. They will get 10% of any money if Chelsea sells Garnacho in the future.
