August will be a month of news for fans of the series Game of Thrones (or Game of Thrones) on HBO Max. This is because the streaming service premieres the House of the Dragon spin-off series, but not only.
Game of Thrones will finally have a 4K version on HBO Max
In the last hours, Warner Media revealed in the United States the news of HBO Max for the month of August. And it was revealed that Game of Thrones will finally have the series released with resolution 4KUltra HD.
In addition to resolution, users can also count on support for HDR10, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. It is a novelty that in the United States will arrive in a plan without announcements, and the arrival in Portugal is yet to be confirmed. But it doesn’t even make sense for it to be any other way.

Unsurprisingly, the spin-off series House Of the Dragon will also be released in these formats. In case you didn’t know, the series based on the books “Fire & Blood” by George RR Martin arrives on the platform on August 21.
This new series already has an official trailer, which you can see below. This is a prequel to Game of Thrones and takes place 200 years before the events of the original series. It will show the dispute between Rhaenyra Targaryen and Aegon II for the throne of Westeros.
Similar to what happened with Game of Thrones, the new series will have 10 episodes in this first season. These will be distributed weekly on the official platform of Warner Media in Portugal.
Much of the series was shot in the United Kingdom, also passing through the United States or Spain. But it was also confirmed in July 2021 that part of the filming would take place in the town of Monsanto, in Portugal.
