Gago wants to sign a former Boca teammate for Racing

As reported by Argentine journalist Juan Pablo Vila at TNT Sports, Fernando Gago contacted Andres Cubas to convince him to become a new signing of Racing Club de Avellaneda for the next season. A strategic move to create a squad capable of making a national and international hit, which the club needs after a difficult year at the sporting level, coupled with the departures of Lisandro Martínez and Darío Cvitanich.

The Argentine midfielder has no continuity in French Nimes and would be willing to return to his country to highlight his career. The problem is that Racing does not have money to close a transfer, so it has to agree a loan with the European team or buy a part of the pass. A negotiation that can begin in the coming weeks.

A signing to grow

Andrés Cubas, who was trained in the lower categories of Boca Juniors to the point of playing 39 games with the first team and coinciding with Fernando Gago on the field, wants to return to Argentina where he had the opportunity to wear the colors of the xeneize team, Talleres Córdoba (51 games) and Defense and Justice (24 games). He also had a very brief experience in Italy with Pescara and has played 42 games for Nimes since 2020. This season he has played 15 games between Ligue 2 and the Coupe de France.

The midfielder could become Racing’s second signing after the arrival of Hauche, who has already signed to be one of the club’s new offensive references for 2022, where they will try to win the Copa Conmebol Sudamericana.
