Future Apple Watch can measure hydration level

Apple Watch comes with all kinds of health-related features and sensors, such as heart rate monitor, ECG monitor, blood oxygen monitor, and more.

It seems that in the future, We could add another sensor or monitor to this list that will be able to measure our body’s hydration.

Manzana requested Recently a patent for a hydration measurement function that can be used on the Apple Watch.

The patent description says: “Hydration measurement capabilities can be provided by a portable electronic device, such as a watch, to allow the user to easily track hydration. A watch can be used to receive and measure one or more electrical properties of the sweat produced by the watch wearer. The watch provides electrodes to measure the electrical properties of perspiration. ‘

Apple also adds: “Hydration monitoring can be done non-invasively, repeatedly, accurately, automatically and with minimal user intervention. Measurements can be used to provide useful and monitoring health information to a user, thus allowing the user to better manage hydration and overall health.

However, as it is a patent, it is not known if Apple will make this happen. There are rumors that Apple is considering other types of sensors and health monitors as a non-invasive way to measure glucose levels, but it may take a while before we see this feature on the Apple Watch.
