Brazilian esports organization FURIA clinched its inaugural Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) championship on Sunday, dominating Team Vitality with a decisive 3-0 victory in the Counter-Strike 2 grand final in Chengdu, China.
The clean sweep marked a significant milestone for FURIA, securing the team a substantial prize of $285,000. It was the first time the Brazilian powerhouse had reached an IEM final, making the commanding win particularly notable.
The best-of-five series concluded swiftly on three maps, showcasing FURIA’s tactical superiority. Although Team Vitality managed to keep scores tight in individual rounds, they were unable to force an overtime or secure a single map victory.
FURIA secured Ancient with a 13-11 score, followed by a 13-10 win on Inferno. The team then closed out the tournament on Overpass with another 13-11 victory.

The prize money awarded to FURIA was confirmed by the official ESL page. Another Brazilian team, paiN Gaming, also participated in the tournament, finishing in 9th-12th place and earning $25,000.
