The FURIA team made history by taking down paiN Gaming in the grand final of the LTA Sul (League of The America) second split. This was FURIA‘s first time making it to the finals, while paiN Gaming had been on a streak since 2022, participating in six consecutive finals.
The favorites to win were paiN Gaming, who had only lost one best-of-one match throughout the entire tournament. But FURIA had other plans. In the first game, they pulled off an impressive fight, despite being behind in kills (18-16), and took the lead in the series after 37 minutes.
The second game followed a similar script, with many kills and intense team fights. However, FURIA came out on top in the decisive moments. They closed out the series with a win in the second game, taking home their first LTA Sul championship title and their first LoL trophy.
With this win, FURIA will move on to compete in the MSI (Mid-Season Invitational) in Toronto, Canada, and the Esports World Cup (EWC), also known as the eSports World Cup, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
