Despite strong interest from clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United, Fulham are in the best position to sign talented midfielder André Trindade from Fluminense, according to sources in the Evening Standard. The 22-year-old Brazilian is an object of desire in the Premier League and Fulham have been closely monitoring his development since last summer.
Fulham are leading the race to sign Andrés
Apparently the Fulham project has fascinated André, who has been in the London club’s sights since last season. However, Fluminense were only willing to negotiate his sale after the Copa Libertadores, where André played a crucial role in winning the trophy.
Various reports suggest the midfielder’s value would be around £30 million, a figure Fluminense are willing to accept. The decision for André will largely depend on the player’s intentions and so far it appears that Fulham are leading the race.
André had an outstanding 2022-2023 season, playing 56 games for Fluminense and representing Brazil internationally. Fernando Diniz’s leadership has contributed to the development of the young central midfielder.
Amid these negotiations, uncertainty arises over the future of João Palhinha, who has been repeatedly linked to Bayern Munich. Although Palhinha has extended his contract with Fulham until 2028, reports from Germany suggest that Bayern will make a new attempt to sign him in January after their failed attempt in the summer.
Regardless of the situation with Palhinha, the acquisition of André would be a significant reinforcement for Marco Silva and Fulham. In the event of Palhinha’s possible departure, André could emerge as Craven Cottage’s new standout midfielder and bring exceptional quality to the London team with the ball at his feet.
