Fuerza Regida celebrated a historic night at the Billboard Latin Music Awards 2025 in Miami. The Mexican-American group, formed in San Bernardino, California, secured five trophies from their eleven nominations. This made them the third most awarded artist of the evening.
During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly en Español following the Telemundo broadcast, the group recounted a significant past experience. They shared details of an unexpected encounter with global pop star Justin Bieber.
The band members described their meeting with Bieber in Los Angeles as "a very cool experience." They presented Bieber with a Mexico jersey bearing his name, which he reportedly liked and posed for photos with.

They even engaged in a friendly game, with the group admitting, "although yes, he beat us." This humorous detail was shared with laughter.
The interaction with Bieber, which gained viral traction on social media weeks before the awards, signifies the expansive global reach of Mexican music. For Fuerza Regida, such international recognition proves how once-regional genres are now global trends.
Vocalist Jesús Ortiz Paz expressed pride in this development. "It makes us happy to see how Mexican music is reaching everywhere, other languages and cultures," he stated. He added that it is "incredible to see artists like Justin interested in what we do."
On October 23, the group took the stage at the James L. Knight Center. Their five awards included Regional Mexican Artist of the Year, Duo or Group. They also won Regional Mexican Song of the Year for "Tu boda," a collaboration with Óscar Maydon.
Another win was Hot Latin Song, Vocal Collaboration of the Year. These accolades solidify their reputation as pioneers in modern corrido tumbado.
"God ahead has always been our good luck charm, and the fans who repeated it again," the group told Us Weekly en Español. "We are going to continue working to give music to the people. That’s what has worked for us and we don’t plan to change it."
The band maintained their characteristic humor when discussing their new trophies. They playfully suggested they store their awards in a "bunker where we put all the successes… to make them strong."
This phrase has resonated with fans, reflecting the authenticity that endears them to the Latin public. Fuerza Regida ranked only behind Bad Bunny, who took home 11 awards, and Karol G, with 6.
Their significant success underscores the ongoing trend and boundary-breaking nature of regional Mexican music. The ceremony also featured memorable performances by stars such as Peso Pluma, Laura Pausini, Elvis Crespo, and Daddy Yankee.
Fuerza Regida’s journey from playing local parties to becoming a global phenomenon gives their achievement a special significance. The group continues to demonstrate that hard work, faith, and a deep connection to their roots remain their strongest assets, both on and off the field.
