Carplus Fuenlabrada has decided that Josep María Raventós will not continue as coach of the Madrid first team, they reported in a statement. The Catalan coach, who joined the Fuenlabrada squad in 2015 as an assistant coachan occupation he held until the middle of the 2020/21 campaign when he became the first team’s starting coach.
Fuenlabrada has made this decision due to the bad start to the season, with three defeats in the first three games, which has placed them in penultimate place, just ahead of Básquet Girona. “The club wants to express its enormous gratitude to Josep for his work during these years, always willing to add, as well as his closeness to all the entity’s staff both on and off the pitch. We know that Fuenla has entered his heart and we will always consider him one more Fuenlabreño”, expresses the Madrid entity.
Likewise, his assistant Sergio Lorenzo Jiménez, who also arrived in Fuenlabrada in 2015, will not continue, who specifies that “José Luis Pichel and Salvador Guardia are in charge of the team on an interim basis”.
