The biggest blemish in the world’s biggest cricket league occurred in 2013. In fact, in the 2013 IPL, three players were charged with spot-fixing. Indian fast bowlers S Sreesanth, Ankit Chavan and Ajit Chandila were also arrested in this. After this, all of them were banned for life by the BCCI. However, Sreesanth contested it and his sentence was later reduced.

Gurunath Meyappan, son-in-law of Chennai Super Kings owner N Srinivasan, and Raj Kundra, owner of Rajasthan Royals, were also found guilty in the betting dispute. After this, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals were banned for two years.

KKR owner Shahrukh Khan was banned from Wankhede Stadium at IPL 2012. Shahrukh was actually charged with indecency and assault with ground workers. It happened that a security guard prevented Shahrukh from entering the ground. This angered Badshah Khan. However, Shahrukh was later banned from entering the stadium by the Mumbai Cricket Association. However, this restriction was lifted in 2015.

The first controversy of the IPL happened in the first season of this own league. When spinner Harbhajan Singh publicly slapped fast pitcher S Sreesanth. In fact, on April 25, 2008, Sreesanth was seen in tears after the match between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians played in Mohali. Bhajji had slapped him on something. After this, Harbhajan was suspended for 11 matches.

The Indian Premier League plan was from Lalit Modi, he had started this league. However, in 2010, he was accused of misappropriation of money and was suspended from his post by the BCCI.
