French Police Hunt Newcastle Fan After Stadium Bathroom Sex and Match Clashes

Newcastle United is formally protesting the treatment of its fans by French police following a Champions League match, as authorities simultaneously seek a supporter reportedly involved in both stadium clashes and a viral video of public indecency.

The English club announced Thursday it would file a formal complaint with UEFA, Olympique Marseille, and French police regarding the “unacceptable treatment” its fans experienced. This alleged misconduct occurred at Stade Vélodrome in Marseille after Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League fixture.

The club stated on its website and social media, “We will be formally raising our concerns with UEFA, Olympique de Marseille and French police in relation to the unacceptable treatment of our supporters by police at Stade Vélodrome following Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League fixture.”

Meanwhile, French police are actively searching for a Newcastle supporter seen in a graphic video circulating online. The video reportedly shows the man, fully naked, engaging in sexual activity with a woman in a stadium restroom.

This same fan is also sought for his alleged involvement in violent altercations with security forces at the Vélodrome during the match.

A Marseille police source confirmed seeing the explicit video. The source indicated that the man identified in the video as performing sexual acts “might have been involved in a fight with the police later.”

While not explicitly prohibited, public sexual activity in France is classified as public indecency or sexual exhibitionism. Such acts are punishable by up to one year in prison and a fine of approximately $16,300.
