Bitcoin: cryptocurrency is the source of enormous electronic waste
A Dutch study conducted by the central bank of the Netherlands in partnership with MIT, explains that ASIC chips, used to mine Bitcoin, have a lifespan of only 1.29 years. Cryptocurrency, in addition to being extremely energy-intensive, therefore leads to a high waste of electronic components since it would produce 30.7 kilotons of electronic waste per year. In 2020, 112.5 million Bitcoin transactions were carried out: for one transaction, therefore 272 g of electronic components were thrown in the trash, the equivalent of two iPhone 12 Mini according to the study.

Soon free channels on Google TV?
According to Protocol, Google has been in talks with operators of free and ad-supported TV channels to add their streaming channels to its platform. Chromecast and other devices powered by Google TV could therefore soon allow users to access free TV channels. These will be funded by ad breaks and on-screen watermarks, like the pay channels, and could be launched between this fall and early 2022. At this time, it is not known if these channels will only be available. in some countries, if they will be accessible to all users and if languages ​​other than English will be offered.

The Lucid Air is way ahead of Tesla when it comes to range
Lucid has kept its promises: Environmental Protection Agency testing ensures the car will be able to travel 837 km between charges in its most efficient configuration. It is therefore the electric vehicle with the longest range ever evaluated, far ahead of the Tesla Model S which only offers a range of 652 km. The Air Dream Edition Performance, on the other hand, is a little less powerful: Elon Musk’s sedan can shoot from 0 to 96 km / h in just 1.99 seconds, compared to 2.5 seconds for the Lucid Air. Lucid’s new cars are expected to arrive in the United States by the end of the year, and in 2022 in Europe.
