Frank Lampard, leading candidate to be Norwich's new manager

As reported by the prestigious English newspaper The Times, Frank Lampard is the number 1 candidate to replace Daniel farke as coach of the first team of the Norwich city, which is coming off its first Premier League victory after a dismal start that cost its technical director and part of its staff their jobs.

The German coach was sacked yesterday after their away win against Brentford. The opportunity to have a selection break was the reason why the board led by Delia Smith made the decision to change manager. The German, despite achieving two impressive promotions to the first division in recent seasons, did not show he was able to promote such a complicated project in the English elite, so the intention is to bet on another profile.

The main candidate

The English media confirm that Frank Lampard is the first choice, taking into account his experience at Chelsea and his ability to build an ideal context for the club’s young talents.

His experience at Chelsea was a bit bittersweet as he had a near-perfect first year because of the club’s aspirations, but his second season was not the best when he had top-tier signings to lift the team. He left with 44 victories, 15 draws and 25 defeats in 84 games played. His stage in the Derby was also very positive, despite losing the promotion playoff at the time to Aston Villa.

Steve Bruce, Lucien Favre and John Terry are the other options that Norwich manages for the bench of its first team.
