France approved the health passport and puts more obstacles to the anti-vaccines

The French Parliament finally approved the health passport that gives a turn in the policy of permits and openings of activities in the middle of the escalation of Covid infections in that country. Measure forces citizens to have the complete vaccination schedule to enter public placessuch as bars and shopping centers.

The passport was resisted by a broad section of the anti-vaccine society, which in recent days organized massive protests of rejection. However, the ruling majority in Parliament made the treatment of the law a formality.

The Senate approved it with 249 votes in favor and 63 against, some of which are aligned with the government of Emmanuel Macron.

The text has a slight variant with respect to the one that was sanctioned in Deputies, with which an instance of agreement between both chambers will be opened to give you the final green light.

What does the health passport establish

Once it enters into force, the passport that indicates that you have the complete vaccination schedule will be required to access places of leisure, transport and other places, and it will no longer serve only a negative test, as before.

The senators introduced some amendments that the Government does not like, such as restrictions on its use linked to the fact that the figure of 10 thousand hospitalized is exceeded at the national level.

In addition, the text adopted by the Senate also excludes those under 18 years of age from the vaccination passport and it removes the ability for bar and restaurant owners to verify the identity of customers to avoid counterfeiting.
