The clock was winding down for Sporting Clube de Braga. They found themselves trailing on their home turf against AVS. With just 11 minutes left on the scoreboard, a crucial change was made. Fran Navarro stepped onto the pitch, entering the game as a substitute.

It didn’t take the Spanish striker long to make his mark. Soon after coming on, Navarro netted the equalizer. This dramatic goal saved Braga from a disappointing home defeat. Still, they had to settle for a draw, losing their first points in the league campaign.

After the match, the 27-year-old forward from the Minho team reflected on the outcome. “Every striker wants to score goals,” Navarro explained. “Sometimes it’s to help the team, other times the chances just don’t go in.” He emphasized the road ahead. “We must keep working hard,” he stated. “There is so much left to play this season. We believe we are heading in the right direction.”

Navarro also shared his thoughts on the game’s flow. “We really took control during the second half,” he noted. “We attacked constantly, pushing forward the whole time.” He acknowledged the opposition’s effort too. “They played well, they earned their share of the game.” He described their late surge. “In the final minutes, we created an avalanche of chances. We just couldn’t find that third goal.” Looking forward, he added, “Now we focus on Thursday’s game. We need to learn from our mistakes today.”
