A turbulent start to the year for Japan. According to NHK, citing police sources, four people were stabbed at Tokyo subway's Akihabara station and are being treated in hospital. The Yamanote Ring Line, one of the busiest in the capital, was closed this Wednesday, January 3, at around 1:56 p.m. local time due to an “event” at Akihabara Station, the East Railway Company reported. According to information, a woman was carrying a knife at the train station.
News of the multiple knife attacks follows the crash of two planes at Tokyo International Airport on Tuesday and the earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale on Monday.
