Formula 1 Unveils 2026 Calendar with Madrid Debut and Scheduling Changes

Get ready for the 2026 Formula 1 season. It’s going to be a wild ride with 24 rounds. The season starts in Australia in early March.

The big change? Madrid is in, and Imola is out. The Spanish Grand Prix will hit the streets of Madrid in September. And, there’s another Spanish race – in Catalonia. The name’s not final yet, but it’ll likely be the Barcelona or Catalonia Grand Prix.

The Canadian Grand Prix is moving to May. That’s the same day as the Indianapolis 500, which could be a problem for some fans.

Europe’s first Grand Prix is in Monaco in June. After that, it’s a straight shot through the summer without any long trips. The Dutch Grand Prix is on August 23, and it’ll include a sprint race – just like five other tracks.

To give the teams a break, the races are spaced out. There are only two sets of three back-to-back weekends. The first set is in Austin, Mexico, and Brazil. Two weeks later, it’s Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi to wrap up the season on December 6.
