Former Spanish tennis player Alberto Arilla dies at 83

Former Spanish Davis Cup player Alberto Arilla died in Valencia at the age of 83, informed sources close to his family.

Born in Barcelona in 1937, He was a member of the national tennis team eight times as a doubles player preferably between 1958 and 1963 with his brother José Luis and Andrés Gimenor, in the period prior to the first finals played by Spain in this tournament.

Settled in Valencia since the sixties, He developed his professional activity as a chemical engineer in several companies in this city and married Victoria Pérez-Payà, sister of the former president of the Spanish Football Federation, José Luis Pérez Payà.

For several years it was tennis tournament commentator on Ràdio Televisió Valenciana.
