As a result, Akihito has postponed his planned trip to the Hayama Imperial Villa in Kanagawa Prefecture. His medical history includes heart bypass surgery in 2012 and a diagnosis of right heart failure in 2022. The latter condition requires him to take medication and monitor his fluid intake.
