Florida and Caribbean Cruise Association will hold its annual conference in the country

Dominican Republic will host the Florida & Caribbean Cruise Association 28th Annual Conference (FCCA, in English), to be held from October 11 to 14 of this year in the city of Santo Domingo.

After making the announcement, President Luis Abinader and the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, highlighted the importance of the event, which constitutes the largest cruise conference and trade show in the Caribbean, Mexico, Central and South America.

President Abinader said that the government will give all its support to guarantee the success of the FCCA annual conference, which will be held in the country for the second time.

He assured that the event is the ideal platform to continue positioning cruise tourism in the different markets.

“We have a shared success story with FCCA and I guarantee that together we will reach the port of progress and more sources of jobs,” proclaimed the president while leading the activity.

Minister Collado highlighted the importance of the FCCA conference to guarantee a greater thrust of cruise tourism in the Dominican Republic.

“Cruise tourism has a direct impact on the country’s economy. It generates more than 4 thousand direct jobs and ten thousand indirectCollado said.

He recalled that this industry also generates more 135 million dollars, what is felt directly in the economy of the Dominicans.

The president of the FCCA, Adam Ceserano, highlighted the success obtained by the Dominican Republic in the tourism recoverywhich includes the cruise industry.

Ceserano said that the Dominican Republic is ideal for holding the 28th version of the FCCA annual conference, which will have a positive impact on the development and strengthening of the cruise industry in the country.

“With the support of the country, we will return to the splendor we had before the pandemic,” said the president of the FCCA.

The conference will be attended by more than 60 cruise executivesincluding presidents and directors, top government leaders from over 40 countriesas well as more than 500 representatives from various parts of the world.

The conclave offers the perfect forum to develop mutual understanding and relationships to improve the cruise tourism business among the participants.

This 28th version of the FCCA conference will be the ideal platform for the country to show the products and services it offers to the cruise industry, which has registered sustained growth in the Dominican Republic.

Statistics
During the month of May 2022, 82,199 cruise passengers arrived in the Dominican Republic, in 10 cruise lines, carrying out 32 operations, of which 19 were cruises and 13 ferries.

While, From July 2021 to May 2022, an accumulated number of 754,760 cruise passengers is registeredin 51 cruise lines, with 458 operations.
