Five Dominicans win the GL Silver Bat award

A group of 5 Dominican players received the Silver Bat award, which in MLB is awarded to the best hitter in each position.

Due to his performances in the 2021 major league season, the Dominican winners were, in the American League, Vladimir Guerrero jr. at first baseman, Rafael Devers at third base and outfielder Teoscar Hernández.

In the National the award was won by Fernando Tatis Jr. in shorts and Juan Soto as outfielder.

Vladimir Jr. had 48 home runs and 111 RBIs to win the award. He was a co-leader in home runs with Venezuelan catcher Salvador Pérez.

Devers had 38 home runs and 101 RBIs. The other AL winners were Marcus Semien at second base, Xander Bogaerts at shortstop, Salvador ´Pérez on catcher, and outfield Teoscar (32 homers, 116 RBIs), Aaron Judge and Cedric Mullins.

Tatis Jr. had 42 homers, 97 RBIs, and Soto was outstanding with a .313 batting average, 29 homers, 95 RBIs and 145 walks, leading.

The National also won Freddie Freeman at first base, Ozzie Albies at second, Austin Riley at third, and Nick Castellanos and Bryce Harper in the outfield.

As designated of the American, the Japanese Shohei Ohtani won.
