On Tuesday afternoon, a series of incidents occurred on Punta del Diablo beach, resulting in the arrest of five individuals for robberies and aggressions. The events unfolded when Prefecture personnel were carrying out rescue tasks in the waters of the fishermen’s beach at 6:30 pm. They noticed disturbances on the sand and decided to intervene.
In the water, several people who had gone swimming were unable to leave, while on the beach, a group of individuals was causing trouble. As seen in the footage, Navy personnel detained several of those responsible, as reports of robberies and aggressions were made, including the theft of wallets, documents, and cell phones.
During a subsequent patrol, the Prefecture was able to apprehend two more suspects and recover some of the stolen belongings. In total, five people were arrested during the procedure and are now at the disposal of the Chu Prosecutor’s Office. They are being investigated for crimes including threats, aggressions, and thefts.
