The new Fire TV Stick 4K Max is available in France for pre-order at a price of 64.99 €. It will be officially in stock on the Amazon side from October 7, 2021. You can already reserve it on the e-commerce giant’s website.
Presented on September 10 at the same time as the first Amazon televisions, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max is a new and improved version of its HDMI-dongle type media streaming device. On the design side, no big change but it is above all in terms of technical characteristics that this new model stands out from the already existing 4K version.
One of the main novelties is the Wi-Fi 6 standard support, made possible by the integration of a more recent processor, a MediaTek MT8696. The latter has 4 cores that run up to 1.8 GHz, and include a 750 MHz GPU. By comparison, those found on the Fire TV Stick 4K could hit 1.7 GHz and 650 MHz, respectively. Improvement also in the amount of RAM memory allocated since this new version embeds 2 GB while the Fire TV 4K is limited to 1.5 GB of RAM.
The rest of the device is overall similar to the standard Fire TV Stick 4K. All in all, it’s still a fairly capable media player supporting all major media streaming apps and features like HDR, HDR10 +, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. For now, it is available for pre-order on Amazon but could also appear, especially on the side of the Boulanger brand which already offers a lot of Amazon products on its online store.
