So far this fire has spread to 29,585 acres (119.7 sq km).

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) said in its latest briefing, “The fire showed a significant increase today. The fire spread even more than quadruple rapidly.”

According to Cal Fire, as of Thursday evening, around 1,700 personnel were employed to douse the raging wildfire. The Forest Service said more than 260 bulldozers are working at the scene.

As of Thursday evening, local officials said 3,666 homes in El Dorado and Placer counties were at risk of fire. California Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency for El Dorado and Placer County because of the fire. In addition, a state of emergency has been declared in Riverside County for the Fairview fire burning in Southern California earlier this week. People have been shifted away from the area to a safer place.
